Exceptions

Yesterday, March 6, our ward had a dinner and talent show. They had yummy pulled pork/chicken sandwiches, hot pork and beans with meat, salad, and only one kind of dessert ...

Chocolate cake.

I made an exception for this one time, seeing as (1) it was a special occasion; and (2) there weren't any other kinds of dessert to choose from.

It was delish. {I ate two pieces.}

"Chocolate-Free-March"

Okay, so it's not actually a walking event. It's not even a charity. It's my self-named goal.

Beginning March 2 through the end of the month, I am going to attempt to not eat any chocolate. This means no candy bars, brownies, cookies, etc. If it contains chocolate, it's off limits. I was originally going to include any high-sugar food on the list, but thought it would be more realistic for me just to cut out part of my sugar intake, and chocolate is the biggest part!

Hey, who knows, I may even cut back on other sweets during the month. Knowing that a lot of sugar-rich foods contain chocolate, I will be more likely to find other options to eat!

Anyone up for some leftover candy bars?

Diet

Well, I have had the symptoms of candida again, this time with more bloating involved.

Researching the different foods allowed on an anti-candida diet, I have discovered that raw vegetables and meats are a couple of the best things to eat. Also, yogurt is good for its cultures.

Starting March 1, I am going to see how long I can go without consuming any chocolate, or any food high in sugar. Wish me luck!

Welcome to My Blog

I have wanted to start an online channel where people can read about my beginning, undertaking, and maintaining a low sugar intake.

I haven't been diagnosed by a professional. However, I think I may have one of the following conditions: candida; diabetes.

This is a refuge for those who are dealing with a sugar diagnosis, and for those who know someone with a diagnosis ... or for those who just want to eat healthier by cutting back on sugar. The list of diagnosed conditions includes, but is not limited to:
  • diabetes
  • yeast infections

I will post more when I come across them.

Anyone who has questions, or would like a post about a specific topic, is welcome to contact me through email.

Thank you.
